Community Arts Projects

LRRCAPP - In 2012-14 I ran an artist residency for Orbit Housing and set up the Larner Road Regeneration - Community Arts Photography Project. For more information about this residency go to lrrcapp.weebly.com.

Recording History/ Where I Live - A KS2/3 history and art project that engages pupils in their local environment. This project looks at local history, the use of historical sources and using photography as a tool for recording history as well as a creative medium. My project The Land of The Troll Bridge and The Swamp is used as a starting point. If you would like more information about this project contact me via my contact page.

Art and Nature -  Using nature as a starting point this project combines local plant life with photographic techniques (either cyanotypes &/or phytograms*) to create pieces of art. If you would like more information about this project contact me via my contact page.

*What is a cyanotype? - A cyanotype is a camera-less photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Discovered by Sir John Herschel in 1841 and made famous by Kent based scientist Anna Atkins in her book titled ‘Photographs of British Algae: Cyanotype Impressions’ in 1843.
What is a phytogram? - A phytogram is a camera-less photographic technique that uses the internal chemistry of plants for the creation of images on photographic emulsion.
